Fireplace

Large Irish Limestone fireplace, suitable for hotel, pub or large room. Very traditional feel, because stone is hand-dressed in the old fashioned way. Before modern saws, all stone was taken out of twist (made square) by using the hammer and chisel. Here we have replicated this process, note the coin effect to the edge of each block and the track of chisels in the middle - in our area this is called 'broading'. This fireplace can accommodate many different inserts and is shown here with a brick.

The original of this design, we restored for the OPW and fitted into Dillon House, Ballaghadereen. This is our version in Cream, it has turned legs and a deep shelf. Seen with Stovax Milan Contemporary Fire Basket. All sizes can be altered to suit individual requirements. This is also available in Cream Marble, Kilkenny Black Marble, Kerry Red Marble and honed Irish Limestone.

Contemporary Design with traditional feel. Fireplace has double raised hearth to suit Yeoman CL8 stove. Fireplace is made from combination of textured Spanish limestone and Irish honed limestone. This is an example of a bespoke fireplace on a large scale, with the house name carved in Latin on the front panel. This is made in Irish Limestone and has a very high hearth, shown with Swan Basket, gas fire and canapy. This fireplace can be made to size and in a variety of stone or marble.

Dillon House design in Kilkenny Black Marble. The original of this design was restored by us and fitted into Dillon House, Ballaghadereen. Home of John Dillon, former leader of Fine Gael. Also available in White Marble, Cream Marble, Cream Limestone, Kerry Red Marble and honed Irish Limestone.

The original of this large period fireplace was removed from the old convent in Swinford, it was restored by us and we have been reproducing this design ever since. Available in a variety of colours, show here with a stovax london plate and basket.

Here is another example of our ability to deliver on a large scale. This Cream Limestone fireplace is fitted into a large room with a vaulted ceiling. However, the chimney breast in the room was quite small in proportion to the rest of the room. This fireplace has been built around the breast and is 65" high and 85" wide, thus making the fireplace the focal point that this room needed.

This fireplace, we feel shows very well the quality of our work, and the passion and respect we have for good design. Made from a variety of marbles, it is well balanced in proportion of height to width. It has a 16 inch deep top shelf, with hand-carved corbells and curved marble insert to accommodate any arch insert. This fireplace is on display in our showroom in Crema Dorlion Marble.
